Fish Creek, Wis. (October 16, 2023) – The Door County Historical Society announces the upcoming closure of Eagle Bluff Lighthouse for the 2023 season on October 20. This year has been nothing short of remarkable, with approximately 16,000 visitors having explored the historic lighthouse, including the highly anticipated return of the Twilight Tours.
As the season draws to a close, the Door County Historical Society is not resting on its laurels. Throughout the winter, our dedicated team will continue to work tirelessly on a vital capital campaign aimed at raising funds for a comprehensive restoration of Eagle Bluff Lighthouse. This endeavor also includes the reconstruction of the barn and summer kitchen, which will further enhance the historical site and preserve its legacy for future generations.
Eagle Bluff Lighthouse has played a significant role in Door County’s history, and the support from the community and visitors alike has been instrumental in its preservation and continued success. The Door County Historical Society has managed and maintained Eagle Bluff Lighthouse since 1960. is grateful for the enthusiasm and patronage of our visitors during the 2023 season and looks forward to welcoming them back in the future.
