Fish Creek, Wis. (June 24, 2024) – Door County-based singer-songwriter Katie Dahl leads regular vacations to Europe with fans and friends. In fall 2024, Dahl will lead two trips to Scotland, and in 2025, she’ll lead trips to Scotland, Ireland, and a river cruise down the Rhine. All trips include plenty of music by both Dahl and by local musicians, as well as lots of non-musical cultural activities and plenty of great food.
In 2022, Dahl began partnering with Scotland Folk Tours, a small Scotland-based travel company that create small group tour experiences for fans of American folk musicians. All Dahl’s Scotland tours are administered by Scotland Folk Tours (SFT), and the summer 2025 Ireland trip will be administered by SFT’s Irish equivalent, Inishfree Tours. Dahl calls the trips “exceptionally well-run” and notes that they’re “group tours for people who think they don’t like group tours.”
Passengers on the trip hail from all over North America, including many from Door County. John Meyer, a passenger on Dahl’s first trip to Scotland in 2022, said of the experience, ““We have traveled a great portion of the planet. This was the best trip we have ever been on.” And 2023 passenger Lachrisa Grandberry said, ““If you haven’t traveled with Katie Dahl, you’re missing out! The music, the food, the company, the experience…so good! It was one of the best decisions I’ve made, and I can’t wait to do it again!”
Dahl’s November 2025 Rhine River cruise will be a “Northern Sky Fan Cruise” co-led by Dahl and Northern Sky Theater artistic director Jeff Herbst.
Trips begin at $3000 and include all lodging and group activities, as well as many meals. One of Dahl’s two 2024 Scotland tours is sold out; a handful of slots remain for the other, which is co-led with Bay Area musician Julie Wolf.
