Door County Supergroup “Buckets Band” Presents “Buckets of Rain” and “Buckets of Prine” in Rotation at Woodwalk Gallery

July 16, 2025 by Laurel Ciohon

Egg Harbor, Wis. (July 16, 2025) – The popular “Buckets Band,” a Door County supergroup, will take the stage eight times at Woodwalk Gallery in Egg Harbor for “Buckets of Rain” (the songs of Bob Dylan) and “Buckets of Prine” (the songs of John Prine). Between July 23 and July 30, there will be eight Buckets performances at Woodwalk, four with Dylan’s songs and four with Prine’s songs, including two matinees. Memphis multi-instrumentalist Eric Lewis, California-based string player Chris Irwin, local singer/songwriters Katie Dahl and Jeanne Kuhns, and bassist-percussionists Rich Higdon and Craig McClelland will all perform in these tributes to America’s best songwriters.

With its pitch-perfect harmonies and varied orchestrations, “Buckets” has become one of the peninsula’s most popular concert traditions. After performing Dylan’s songs to full houses for fifteen years, the group decided to cover Prine’s songs, given the group’s unanimous enthusiasm for his work

Bob Dylan’s work, internationally admired for more than 60 years, has enjoyed a recent renaissance in interest since his 2016 Nobel Prize in Literature and the 2024 film A Complete Unknown. In addition to hits like “Forever Young” and “Blowin’ in the Wind,” the Buckets band dips into Dylan’s back catalogue as well. John Prine, a Chicago-area native, is a songwriter’s songwriter known for songs like “Angel from Montgomery,” “Sam Stone,” and “Paradise.” The Guardian called Prine “gruff, funny, empathetic, imaginative—he was a born storyteller.”

“You really can’t go wrong with either show—or both!” said band member Katie Dahl. “They’re both such incredible songwriters, and we love their work. The group of us just love playing together—it’s hard to believe we can bring such exceptional talent onto a little peninsula like Door County. And the audiences that come back year after year feel like family by now.”

Woodwalk Gallery is located at 6746 County Road G in Egg Harbor. Advance tickets are recommended. Tickets cost $32 and are available at www.woodwalkgallery.com/events. Buckets of Rain (songs of Bob Dylan) will take place July 23 at 7 p.m., July 25 at 7 p.m., July 28 at 7 p.m., and July 30 at 3 p.m. Buckets of Prine (songs of John Prine) will take place July 24 at 7 p.m., July 27 at 7 p.m., July 28 at 3 p.m., and July 29 at 7 p.m.

Doors open 90 minutes before showtime. Audience members are welcome to arrive early for bring-your-own picnics under the tent behind the barn. Wine, beer, soda, bubbly water, and NA cocktails will be available for purchase. Carry-in alcohol not permitted
