Door County YMCA Celebrates 12,000 Members and Growing

January 14, 2025 by Laurel Ciohon

Door County, Wis. (January 14, 2025) – The Door County YMCA is thrilled to announce a significant milestone: 12,000 members and counting! This achievement reflects the incredible support and commitment of the Door County community to health, wellness, and connection.

“We are deeply humbled and grateful to each and every one of our members,” said Amy Gamble, Communications and Outreach Executive for the Door County YMCA. “This milestone is a testament to the strength and unity of our community, and it energizes us to continue providing exceptional programs and services.”

The Door County YMCA has been a cornerstone of the community, offering fitness classes, youth programs, aquatics, and wellness initiatives to people of all ages and abilities. With a focus on nurturing the potential of every individual, promoting healthy living, and fostering a sense of social responsibility, the YMCA is committed to making a lasting impact.

“Whether it’s parents watching their kids grow through sports programs, seniors finding a supportive group in their fitness classes, or families coming together for recreational activities, the YMCA is proud to be a part of your journey,” added Gamble.

Tonya Felhofer, CEO of the Door County YMCA, shared her gratitude: “This milestone is a celebration of everyone who makes the YMCA what it is today—our incredible staff, dedicated board members, selfless volunteers, generous donors, and, most importantly, our amazing members. It’s your unwavering support and commitment that have allowed us to thrive and grow. Thank you for being the heart of our Y community.”

In celebration of this milestone, the YMCA is hosting a special Member Appreciation Day on January 21st. The event will feature opportunities for members to connect with one another and YMCA staff and sign a banner commemorating 12,000+ members. Don’t miss this chance to celebrate with us and experience the vibrant community that makes the YMCA so special!

Thank you, Door County, for making the YMCA a part of your lives. Together, we are stronger, healthier, and more connected than ever.
