Door County, Wis. (April 1, 2024) – As the spring season blooms, the Door County YMCA embarks on an exciting endeavor to bolster its Annual Campaign and continue its mission of community service. Following the success of the recent Day of Giving on March 5th, which rallied support and raised over $31,000, the YMCA is pleased to announce the launch of a $25,000 matching gift challenge.
With a remaining target of $126,000 to meet their ambitious $602,000 goal by May 31st, the Door County YMCA seeks to harness the generosity of the community through this impactful initiative. Every dollar donated to the Annual Campaign within the next 30 days will be matched, effectively doubling the impact of each contribution up to $25,000. This matching gift, made possible by the benevolence of one of the YMCA’s esteemed donors, underscores the commitment to making a profound difference in the local community. “
We are thrilled to kick off this matching gift challenge,” said Brett Cleveland, Mission Advancement Executive of the Door County YMCA. “The support we receive from our community is vital in enabling us to continue providing essential programs and services. This matching gift opportunity presents a unique chance for individuals to amplify their contributions and help us reach our fundraising goal, ensuring we can sustain and enhance our offerings for the benefit of all.”
Contributions to the Annual Campaign are instrumental in supporting a wide array of programs and initiatives that cater to diverse community needs. In the upcoming year, the focus will remain on bolstering Specialty Wellness programs such as LiveSTRONG™, Parkinson’s Exercise, and Y’s Weight Loss program, alongside nurturing Youth Activity Center programs like Before and Afterschool Enrichment and Preschool Readiness. Additionally, the Annual Campaign serves as a lifeline for membership scholarships, ensuring inclusivity by removing financial barriers that might otherwise prevent individuals or families from accessing YMCA resources.
The Door County YMCA emphasizes that every donation, regardless of size, plays a pivotal role in driving positive change. “We recognize that circumstances vary for each individual, but it’s important to remember that even a modest contribution can make a meaningful impact,” Brett added. “If each of our members donated just $10, we would surpass our fundraising target for the year.” Donations to the Door County YMCA’s Annual Campaign can be made in person at either of the YMCA branches or conveniently online through the provided link.
