The American Impressionist Society’s (AIS) 19th Annual National Juried Exhibition will be held September 27th through October 28th, 2018 at the Peninsula School of Art’s Guenzel Gallery, 3900 County Road F, Fish Creek, Wisconsin. This year’s exhibition will feature 175 juried paintings which represent the best of American Impressionist art being produced today. An additional 20 paintings by AIS Masters, officers and founders will also be included. Over $65,000 in cash and merchandise awards will be presented, including $12,000 cash award for Best of Show. All works will be available for purchase.

Founded in 1998, The American Impressionist Society is a leading national art organization with over 1,500 active members across the United States. Their mission is to promote the appreciation of American Impressionist art through exhibitions, workshops and educational programs.

The opening reception and awards presentation will be held on Thursday, September 27th, from 5 to 8pm at Peninsula School of Art. The event is free and open to the public. AIS Master Dawn Whitelaw will serve as the Judge of Awards and will also present a free painting demonstration on Friday, September 28th, from 6 to 8pm. Other programs and events on Friday, Sept 28th, include a panel discussion, group demo, a lecture on the “lineage of color” by Minnesota-based artists, Kami Mendlik, and a lecture on studio safety by Gamblin Artist Oils. Festivities will continue on Saturday, September 29th with an AIS member Paint Out from 8am to 2pm. Artists will paint on location throughout out Door County. A “wet room sale” will be held from 4-6pm at Peninsula School of Art. Admission to the sale is free and open to the public.
