Sturgeon Bay, Wis. (December 19, 2022) – Door-Tran has been awarded a Legacy Grant of $7,088.22 by the Wispact Foundation. This funding will allow us to provide half-priced taxi vouchers to disabled Door County residents. This grant provides us the ability to serve some of the most vulnerable residents in our community.
Due to the rising cost of living, this support is vitally important, especially for those with a disability. Transports after-hours, weekends, and across county lines are possible as the result of high quality, accessible transportation services available 24/7 by private taxi providers. “Taxis, which are independently owned, make them ineligible to receive any state or federal assistance for their operating costs. The opportunity to work collaboratively with our private taxis to off-set these costs for our clients is invaluable. It is such a great honor to have Wispact recognize and support this need.” said Nikki Voight, Executive Director.
