Ellison Bay, Wis. (December 15, 2023) – Deneen Wiske, Roy Thilly and Jeff Lutsey of the Climate Change Coalition of Door County will host a two-session climate action workshop Jan. 4 and 11, from 9 am to noon, at The Clearing’s Jens Jensen Center, 12171 Garrett Bay Road, Ellison Bay.
The workshop will give participants an opportunity to collaborate and agree on smart steps to take, as individuals and a community, to address and mitigate climate change in energy use, transportation, food and agriculture, land conservation and reforestation.
The workshop will identify the most effective, science-based strategies to slow and reverse climate change. Using Project Drawdown’s roadmap for accelerating climate solutions, participants will work together to identify the top ten strategies to apply in Door County and brainstorm ways to foster broad-based and effective local climate action in its communities. They will discover that implementing climate strategies can be easy, cost-effective, and a powerful way to improve health and well-being.
Jeff Lutsey is the Climate Change Coalition’s executive director and chairs the Ridges Sanctuary’s Board of Directors. Roy Thilly was president and CEO for 20 years of WPPI Energy, a regional power company serving 51 customer‐owned electric utilities in Wisconsin, Upper Michigan and Iowa.
