Fish Creek, Wis. (May 19, 2025) – The Door County Historical Society is pleased to announce that Eagle Bluff Lighthouse will open for the 2025 season on Friday, May 23 at 11:00 a.m. Located in Peninsula State Park, the lighthouse will welcome visitors daily from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., seven days a week.
Admission is $6 per person, while DCHS members, veterans, and active military personnel with their immediate family (as part of the Blue Star Museums program) receive free admission.
Guests are invited to take a self-guided tour, which includes a tower climb and the opportunity to explore the lighthouse rooms as they appeared in the late 1800s. Learn about William and Julia Duclon, the keepers who raised seven sons at the lighthouse during their 35-year tenure. Each room offers a window into the daily life and challenges of this remarkable family.
Restoration in Progress
While the lighthouse is open, reconstruction efforts continue on the grounds. Both the barn and summer kitchen are now framed, sheathed, and roofed, with siding installation beginning soon. Once completed, the barn will serve as a visitor center, housing admissions, a gift shop, and exhibits. The summer kitchen, along with the existing winter kitchen, will be interpreted to reflect the lighthouse’s historic period.
This restoration is part of a larger effort to preserve and enhance Eagle Bluff Lighthouse as a key cultural and educational site. Visitors this season will not only enjoy the unique opportunity to explore the lighthouse but also witness historic preservation in action.
