Fall colors should be at their peak when you crest the Ellison Bay Hill overlooking the panorama of the Niagara Escarpment. This quiet yet vibrant town is the home of a unique community of artists, craftspeople, galleries and spectacular natural areas. Always following the weekend of Fall Fest, Ellison Bay celebrates our fall season with the annual Ellison Bay Fall Art Crawl. The dates are October 20-21, 10 am – 5 pm. Come take a leisurely tour, enjoying demonstrations, locally made cider, refreshments, prize drawings and new inspired works.
Clay Bay Pottery’s theme this year is 42 Years on Hwy 42! David and Jeanne welcome you to their gallery celebrating with new work – lamps, mugs, Shoreline girls, ladies, bowls and candlelights. Turtle Ridge Gallery/Boutique is celebrating the work of Kirsten Logerquist, their newest team member. Kirsten makes delicate, affordable jewelry with unique color combinations of beads, found objects and interesting constructions. New bag styles this season include offerings from our Route Collection as well as the Classic Collection. New this fall is the Envelope Clutch. Hand-dyed natural fiber scarves, shawls, wraps and jackets have just been produced in the studio and added to the mix of beautiful signature clothing lines. Digital printed leggings feature the art of Mary Ellen Sisulak and are great paired with cashmere, alpaca, cotton and silk. Mary Ellen has just hung some new mixed media pieces this fall. Ellison Bay Pottery will have a wide variety of Beer Steins fresh out of the kiln along with their famous soup mugs, baking dishes and bowls all ready for the fall and winter. Refreshments including different local beers and cheeses over the weekend.
The Clearing is celebrating its 83rd anniversary this year. The Clearing Bookstore and Gift Shop will be open 10:00-4:00 as is the entire 128 acre campus for touring and hiking. We will have docent tours both days, volunteers demonstrating their arts and crafts in the Jens Jensen Center on Sunday, and we will be serving cider and homemade cookies.
