Sister Bay, Wis. (May 16, 2021) – Midsummer’s Music welcomes audiences for a spectacular 2021 season that celebrates Beethoven’s 250th birthday and includes new and larger venues where everyone can revel in the lineup of a inclusive combination of familiar and lesser-known composers.
Opening night will be at 7:00pm June 18 at the Northern Sky Theater’s Barbara and Spencer Gould Theater in Fish Creek, marking Midsummer’s first performance in this striking, new space. Special guest Norman Gilliland of Wisconsin Public Radio will welcome concertgoers to the performance featuring Mozart’s Piano Quartet in G Minor, Beethoven’s Clarinet Trio in B-flat, and Raff’s Piano Quartet in G Major.
This breathtaking program will be repeated at SWY (another new venue for MM) in Sturgeon Bay as a 3:00pm matinée on June 20, and at 7:00pm at the Door Community Auditorium on June 22.
The summer series of fabulous concerts continues through Labor Day with pieces by Bohuslav Martinů, George Onslow, William Grant Still, Pedro (Pere) Tintorer, Robert Schumann, Benjamin Britten, Pytotr Tchaikovsky, along with Midsummer’s 2021 Composer-in-Residence Will Healy and 2021 Fellows Paul Fruct and Quinn Mason.
