Ephraim Historical Foundation Presents Special History Speaks Program Featuring Ken Burns’ The American Revolution

June 23, 2026 by Laurel Ciohon

Ephraim, Wis. (June 23, 2026) – In celebration of the 250th anniversary of the United States, the Ephraim Historical Foundation (EHF) is partnering with the Door County Auditorium for a special installment of the History Speaks lecture series on Thursday, June 23, 2026, at 6:00 p.m.

Held at the Door County Auditorium, the evening will feature a special preview clip from Ken Burns’ upcoming documentary The American Revolution. Prior to the screening, Chris Kolakowski of the Wisconsin Veterans Museum will present a short lecture exploring Wisconsin’s connections to the Revolutionary War and the broader story of America’s founding.

Following the screening, members of the Sons of the Revolution dressed in historical military uniforms will be available in the Fireside Room at the Door County Auditorium, offering attendees an opportunity to engage with living history and learn more about Revolutionary-era military life. This event is brought to you by Main Street Market.

History Speaks is an evening lecture series hosted by the Ephraim Historical Foundation. Held monthly throughout the summer, these engaging programs feature guest speakers and experts exploring topics connected to Ephraim’s heritage and broader historical themes. Each session invites attendees to deepen their understanding of history through compelling stories, discussions, and shared experiences.

This program is free and open to the public.

The 2026 History Speaks season is generously supported by Cyndy Stiehl, George & Beth Drost, Barbara Gould, and Thor & Darlene Jondahl (In Loving Memory of Hans & Ella Habbestad).

Corporate funding for THE AMERICAN REVOLUTION was provided by Bank of America. Major funding was provided by The Better Angels Society and its members Jeannie and Jonathan Lavine with the Crimson Lion Foundation; and the Blavatnik Family Foundation. Major funding was also provided by David M. Rubenstein; The Robert D. and Patricia E. Kern Family Foundation; Lilly Endowment Inc.; and additional supporters.
