Fish Creek, Wis. (September 1, 2023) – Eric Lewis, the well-known Memphis musician, will perform with a select group of his wide-ranging musician friends at the final musical event of Fishstock Concert Series’ 2023 season in Fish Creek on Sunday, Sept. 3.
Among his many well-deserved plaudits, Lewis has been nominated in consecutive years for Memphis’s Premier String Player Award and has simultaneously been a significant presence in Door County’s long-standing local music scene. Originally from East Tennessee, Lewis says he grew up listening to his Grandpa playing the banjo and his mother playing the guitar. Having performed with a wide range of Door County and Memphis musicians for years, Lewis is planning to bring some of these fine musicians and songwriters along to play at his much-anticipated annual Eric Lewis & Friends concert at Fishstock.
All Fishstock shows are on Sunday and begin at 7:00 pm. The box office opens at 6:00 pm and reserved seating tickets are on sale now at doorcountytickets.com. To attend a Fishstock concert, drive down County Hwy F east of Fish Creek and close to the intersection with Maple Grove Rd. you’ll see a big white barn on the south side of the highway covered with colorful letters dubbing it “Fishstock.” Fishstock concert tickets can be purchased at the door for $20 general admission or $25 reserved seating. For reserved seats, visit Door County Tickets (https://doorcountytickets.com/events/eric-lewis-friends-2023-9-3-2023).
The 100-year-old Fishstock concert barn is one of Door County’s most unique performance locations. What began in 1985 as a venture in employee housing evolved into the site of Sunday night folk, Americana and alternative music concerts. The Series is a combination of some of the area’s best local musicians and bands with visiting favorites and there are always ten energized Sunday evenings of great music and fun.
Fishstock seats 200 in the ground-level indoor area and an additional 200 in the outside seating area. Both concert areas feature independent state-of-the-art lighting and sound systems, creating a personal and rustic setting for performers and audiences alike. A digital projection system with a 10 ft. screen relays the stage views to the outdoor seating. Prior to each show, acclaimed local guitarist George Sawyn will play in the outside seating area from 5:30–6:45 pm, and tailgating by patrons is encouraged.
