David Perry, Jeannie Yu—Chausson Concerto!
August 25, 2024 @ 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm
Sponsored by Sandy Zingler. Write On, Door County poet is Ed DiMaio.
One of the most dramatic and rapturous works in the literature concludes our season. You will be swept away by Chausson’s surging and impulsive masterwork, expertly and passionately realized by our soloists, David Perry, violin, and Jeannie Yu, piano, framed by our string quartet including Ann Palen and Cole Randolph. It’s a unique work, orchestral in concept and monumental in scope. Fellow Frenchman Théodore Dubois’s Quintet, featuring oboist Lindsay Flowers, sets the tone with gaiety and élan. You only have two chances to hear this program. We strongly suggest the Gala on Labor Day for all the festivities and fine food to celebrate another glorious season.
ADDITION to September 2 concert: Our gala is an opportunity to celebrate the power of music, while also raising awareness and funds for MM. We believe that music has the power to bring people together and create positive change in the world, and we hope that this event will inspire and uplift all who attend. Please join us for an unforgettable afternoon of music, entertainment, and philanthropy. We look forward to seeing you at Björklunden!
