Final Weekend to Attend “A Glimpse of Christmas Past”

December 20, 2024 by Laurel Ciohon

Sturgeon Bay, Wis. (December 20, 2024) — Don’t miss your last chance to experience the timeless magic of “A Glimpse of Christmas Past” at Heritage Village. The annual tradition concludes this Friday and Saturday, December 27 and 28, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Heritage Village, 2041 Michigan St, Sturgeon Bay. This is your final opportunity to immerse yourself in the nostalgia of Christmases gone by and make memories that will carry you into the New Year.

Just because Christmas Day has passed doesn’t mean the holiday spirit has to end! Now in its 2nd year, families cherish this annual celebration, which transforms Heritage Village into a festive wonderland. Each building is adorned with historical charm and heartfelt decorations, showcasing the creativity and dedication of local nonprofits.

Start your journey in the heated Greene Store, where you’ll find holiday snacks, warm beverages, and one-of-a-kind gifts. Then begin your tour and experience the unique contributions of Door County’s nonprofit organizations in each of the beautifully decorated buildings:

  • Heritage Chapel: Sunshine Resources shares their commitment to joy and inclusion with heartwarming decor.
  • Vignes Schoolhouse: Door-Tran ties their transportation mission to a seasonal theme with an educational twist and a stunning sleigh display.
  • Kohl Fishhouse: Friends of Potawatomi State Park highlight the serene beauty of winter’s natural wonders.
  • Warren House: Midsummer’s Music brings elegance and charm, inspired by chamber music.
  • Schopf House: Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church spotlights their Backpack Buddies program through thoughtful decorations.

Return to the Greene Store to warm up and vote for your favorite decorated building. It’s the perfect way to cap off your evening and carry the holiday spirit home with you.

Support Local Nonprofits and the Historical Society

Admission is free, but your votes make a difference! Support these wonderful nonprofits by voting for your favorite display with a monetary donation. Contributions can be made on-site via cash/check or online at the Door County Historical Society’s website. Proceeds benefit both the participating organizations and the Door County Historical Society’s preservation efforts, ensuring Heritage Village remains a community treasure for generations to come.

Don’t Let the Season Pass You By

This is your final weekend to enjoy “A Glimpse of Christmas Past,” so gather your family and friends and come celebrate the joy, history, and community spirit of the season. The doors to this enchanting event close after Saturday night—don’t miss your chance to be part of this cherished tradition!
