Baileys Harbor, Wis. (August 3, 2026) – The first and ONLY 24 hour, publicly accessible Lost Pet Microchip Scanning Station in North East Wisconsin was erected this past week Thursday in Baileys Harbor. It was envisioned and donated by none other than Door County Scottie Rally, who hosted their 26th annual Scottie Rally and Parade of Scots back in May. The project received final approval by the Baileys Harbor Town Council in April 2026.
Highlights include:
- Where most microchip scanners are at veterinary clinics, which are often closed on the weekends or after hours, this station is publicly accessible 24 hours
- The station location is in Baileys Harbor, Door County and located on the north side of the Town Hall building, on Park St., across from the Fire Station
- The Idea was conceived and funded by Door County Scottie Rally
- Sign has step by step instructions on how to scan a pet, along with additional resources and information
