Fishstock Concert Series Launches 2019 Season with Musician Will Kruger

June 28, 2019 by Laurel Ciohon

The 2019 Fishstock Concert Series will open with singer/songwriter Will Kruger’s tribute to John Denver on Sunday, June 30. Kruger’s musical roots go back to the folk eera and his influences are musicians like Peter, Paul & Mary, Simon & Garfunkel, Gordon Lighfoot, John Denver, and James Taylor.

The 10-concert Fishstock Series includes a wide range of well-known musicians in the genres of folk, Americans, and alternative music, said concert promoter Steve Ellman. “We really lucked out in terms of musician availability for our dates this year, which are always on Sundays at 7 pm,” said Ellman. “This is a group of touring musicians that represents some of the best  of what’s happening on the curretn music scene, with a heavy emphasis on folk.”

To attend a Fishstock concert, drive down County Hwy F east of Fish Creek and close to the intersection with Maple Grove Rd. you’ll notice a big white barn on the south side of the highway covered with colorful letters dubbing it “Fishstock.”

Fishstock concert tickets can be purchased at the door for $15 general admission or $20 reserved seating. For reserved seats, visit the Fishstock website and click on the ‘Buy Tickets for Reserved Seatung” on the ticket link for each scheduled artist (http://www.fishstockmusic.com/door-county-concerts.shtml).

The 100-year-old Fishstock concert barn is one of Door County’s most unique performance locations. What began in 1985 as a venture in employee housing evolved into the site of Sunday night folk, Americana and alternative music concerts. The Series is a combination of some of the area’s best local musicians and bands with visiting favorites, there are ten energized Sunday evenings of great music and fun that starts on June 30.

Fishstock seats 150 people in the venue’s hayloft acoustic area for live intermission acts plus another 300 in the ground-level indoor area and an additional 300 in the outside seating area. Both concert ares feature independent state-of-the-art lighting and sound systems, creating a personal and rustic setting for performers and audiences alike. A digital projection system wiuth a 10 ft. screen relays the stage views to the otudoor seating.
