Ephraim, Wis. (May 5, 2020) – Amid the global COVID-19 crisis, fm 106.9 The Lodge and Rewind 97.7 seek to honor two members from the Door County community who have gone above and beyond to help others.
While many people are offering a helping hand, fm 106.9 The Lodge and Rewind 97.7 are asking the community to nominate those they’ve noticed making a difference throughout their community. The radio stations will offer recognition on air and make a $500 donation to the Door County Meals Cooperative on behalf of a male and female nominee – who will be crowned the ‘Quaran-queen’ and ‘Quaran-king’ of Door County. The two individuals will both receive gift certificates to Donny’s Glidden Lodge to treat themselves.
“Seeing these people work firsthand, and hearing about them from those around us the past few weeks – we felt like, as a voice of our community here in Door County, we had an obligation to make these stories heard”, says Mike Mesic, President and General Manager of fm 106.9 The Lodge and Rewind 97.7, “at the end of the day we understand that each and every one of us has a part to play in ending this, but that is no reason not to recognize those that have gone above and beyond”.
Participants may nominate their COVID-19 quarantine heroes by visiting either station’s website – fm1069thelodge.com or rewind977.com. Entries ask for the nominee’s name, along with a short paragraph covering the individual’s contribution during this crisis. Nominations begin May 4th, 2020, and the ‘Quaran-queen’ and ‘Quaran-king’ will be crowned May 15th, 2020.
