Fish Creek, Wis. (February 13, 2023) – Wisconsin singer-songwriters Johnsmith and Dan Sebranek will be featured in concert at the White Gull Inn in Fish Creek on Wednesday, February 22. Tickets for the 8 PM concert are $30.
For more than 35 years, singer-songwriter Johnsmith has been performing across America and abroad. He has become a favorite at festivals, clubs, and house concerts. In addition to being a Kerrville New Folk Winner, he has released nine solo albums, leads musical tours to Ireland, teaches songwriting, and has worked in Nashville as a staff songwriter.
John’s 9th solo CD Backroads, co-produced with Tom Prasada-Rao, features a variety of styles, including country on Virgil’s Sweet Six String and Rattle My Bones, and choral backing on songs such as My Name is America and Where’s The World Going to. Included are love songs to his wife of decades and to his small home town on the banks of the Mississippi in Wisconsin. The title track, Backroads, is a quintessential Johnsmith song, that ranks among his finest. The album features guitar, dobro, banjo, fiddle, upright bass, French horn with harmony vocals by John’s daughter, Elisi Smith-Waller, and longtime musical partner, Dan Sebranek.
Dan Sebranek, who appeared with Johnsmith at their last White Gull concert in 2019, is a renowned singer, songwriter and musician with roots in bluegrass and rock and roll. He has shared the stage with Johnsmith, Michael Martin Murphey, Hans Mayer, Bill Miller, John Prine, Perry Jordan (Heartsfield) along with Pure Prairie League. Dan performs each year in Ireland and regularly tours his home state of Wisconsin as well as Florida (Siesta Key / Key Largo) and Colorado as a solo performer, with Johnsmith and in the String Ties Bluegrass Band. Dan has five successful recordings including previous works with Johnsmith.
An optional pre-concert fixed price dinner will be served at 6 pm. The menus consists of Coq au Vin served over Yukon Gold potatoes, seasonal salad, and Door County apple cake for dessert
