Ephraim, Wis. (June 28, 2024) — Colin & Friends is presenting a special free ‘Sibelius & More!’ concert with a one-time 3pm performance this coming Sunday, June 30 at Ephraim Moravian Church, located at 9970 Moravia St.
The concert will feature two highly talented 17-year-old concerto winners from Birch Creek Performance Center, who will be joining Colin Welford to play two concerto movements. The same movements will be performed with the Birch Creek Symphony Orchestra a few days later.
Asha Sundaram (flute) will perform the romantic ‘Fantaisie pour Flûte et Piano,’ by George Hüe, and Lily Yoshihara (violin) will play the first movement of the haunting and beautiful ‘Violin Concerto’ by the renowned Finnish composer Jean Sibelius, which is considered one of the finest violin concertos ever written. The concert will also include Sibelius’s piano music and his magnificent and famous Tone Poem, ‘Finlandia!’
