Jacksonport, Wis. (May 10, 2021) – Now that Open Door Bird Sanctuary has two Eagles to care for, they need to upgrade some of our husbandry equipment. Weight assessment is a critical part of keeping their birds happy and healthy and they don’t have a scale big enough to weigh an Eagle!
O May 22, 2021 Open Door Bird Sanctuary will be at The Spoon with some of our resident raptors for you to meet and a fundraising goal. Their two eagles, Fisher and Mesa, have a combined weight of 20 lbs, so our goal is to raise 20 lbs of spare change!
If they meet that goal, ODBS will have enough change to purchase a new large scale with an eagle sized perch on it. They will have a scale all set up so you can watch your donations of spare change add up to their goal of 20 lbs or more!
Would you like to donate more than the change in your pocket? The Spoon will have dollar coins available for you to drop in the bucket and watch the total grow. They will also be donating a percentage of their sales for the day, so be sure to stop in for a yummy snack!
The Spoon is located at 210 South 1st Avenue in Sturgeon Bay. Stop by anytime on Saturday, May 22 between 11am to 3pm. Don’t forget to bring a handful of spare change!
