There may be no place like home for the holidays. That said, the second-best place to be this time of year is Fish Creek. This holiday season, we have a host of suggestions as you make your list—and check it twice!—of festive places and activities to explore, making every moment merry, bright, and memorable.
Join Us For a “Hometown Holiday”!
This weekend (Saturday, December 2), you’ll feel like you’ve stepped into a holiday movie set come to life during our inaugural “Hometown Holiday” event!
Enjoy a day of holiday shopping before making a stop to meet the Man in Red himself as Gibraltar Fire & Rescue hosts their annual Photos with Santa community fundraiser from 2-4:45 pm. Bring your family, friends, and well-behaved pets to meet Santa and have a photo taken with him with proceeds going towards a deserving charitable organization or local family. This year, Gibraltar Fire & Rescue chose Phoenix Hatch, a remarkable ten-year-old girl living with Marshall-Smith Syndrome, an ultra-rare syndrome that comes with many medical complications. Recently Phoenix underwent a major surgery, which has resulted in hefty medical bills and loss of income while the Hatch family cares for Phoenix during her lengthy recovery and rehabilitation.
After photos, make your way to historic Noble Square. There, join theGibraltar Historical Association for the Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony. Gather around the front steps of the Alexander Noble House as carollers lead you in song by candlelight and usher in the Christmas season with the annual lighting of the majestic Christmas tree. Following the tree lighting, stroll down the street to Blue Horse Beach Cafe for hot cocoa, cookies, and all the cozy vibes you can handle.
Once you’ve warmed up, top off the evening with some final shopping as select businesses (including Fish Creek Market, Alpaca to Apparel, Fred & Co., and On Deck Clothing Company) offer special evening hours ensuring you find the perfect gift for everyone on your list. Find all the details here.
