Door County, Wis. (May 7, 2026) — Midsummer’s Music is proud to present the Griffon String Quartet Season Finale, a compelling program that brings the ensemble’s 2025-2026 season to a close with three performances on May 22–24 in Sturgeon Bay, Green Bay, and Egg Harbor.
Featuring a richly expressive and dynamic program, the Griffon String Quartet Season Finale highlights works by Rebecca Clarke, William Walton, and Ludwig van Beethoven, showcasing the quartet’s signature blend of emotional depth and technical brilliance.
The program opens with Rebecca Clarke’s Poem (Adagio) for String Quartet, a deeply lyrical and introspective work composed in 1926. The evening continues with William Walton’s String Quartet No. 2 in A Minor, a vibrant and rhythmically charged four-movement piece that reflects Walton’s distinctive voice and mid-20th-century modernism.
Following intermission, the quartet performs Beethoven’s String Quartet No. 9 in C Major, Op. 59 No. 3, one of the celebrated “Razumovsky” quartets. This masterwork blends grandeur, wit, and brilliance, culminating in a thrilling finale that brings the program—and the season—to an exhilarating close.
The Griffon String Quartet features Roy Meyer and Alex Norris, violins; Oryann Tsaig, viola; and Jesse Nummelin, cello. Known for their engaging performances and artistic excellence, the ensemble continues to captivate audiences throughout the region.
