Sturgeon Bay, Wis. (December 22, 2024) – Since 1926, the Door County Historical Society has worked to preserve and share our community’s remarkable history. History isn’t just about the past—it shapes our identity, connects us to one another, and teaches valuable lessons for the future. If we don’t preserve it now, we risk losing these stories forever.
We’re asking for your help to ensure these irreplaceable pieces of Door County’s heritage remain for generations to come.
Because of the generosity of supporters, Eagle Bluff Lighthouse still shines as a beacon of history, sharing the story of the Duclon family and their service to mariners. Heritage Village brings the turn of the 20th century to life, offering a vivid look at rural Door County. Our events and educational programs create opportunities for families, neighbors, and visitors to connect with the stories that define who we are.
But none of this happens without community support. Historic buildings need restoration. Artifacts require expert care. Programs must grow to inspire and engage future generations. We can only accomplish this with your help.
Here’s how you can make an immediate impact:
- $50 provides materials for educational programs that ignite curiosity and engagement.
- $250 supports critical preservation work to protect our irreplaceable artifacts.
- Every gift, large or small, helps ensure that Door County’s history remains a vibrant part of our future.
