Fish Creek, Wis. (August 13, 2026) – On Sunday, August 16, at 8 p.m., Door County Auditorium (DCA) will present a screening of the film Hundreds of Beavers—which features beloved Northern Sky actor Doug Mancheski—as part of the newly established Cramer Family Film Series.
A breakout hit of the 2023 film festival circuit, Hundreds of Beavers is a highly inventive, silent, black-and-white, slapstick comedy set in a surreal 19th-century winter landscape. The film—in which Doug Mancheski plays a merchant—follows a former applejack salesman as he embarks on an epic and absurd quest for survival, ultimately facing off against hundreds of beavers in his pursuit of becoming the greatest fur trapper in the wilderness.
Acclaimed by fans and critics alike, the film landed on best-of lists everywhere from the Boston Globe to the L.A. Times. Rogerebert.com called Hundreds of Beavers “a dam fine movie.”
The screening begins at 8 p.m. on August 16. Tickets cost $15. Advance reservations are encouraged. The screening is sponsored by presenting sponsor Glenn and Barbara Timmerman and major sponsor Sweetie Pies. Beer, wine, non-alcoholic drinks, ice cream floats, and snacks will be available for purchase at Chuck & Chichi’s Soda Fountain & Encore Bar.
