Green Bay and Door County, Wis. (April 16, 2025) – Vaccines are an especially important part of your pet’s wellbeing. They are one of the most effective ways to keep your pet, and animals in the community, happy and healthy. That is why the Wisconsin Humane Society (WHS) is making it easier to get your pet vaccinated.
“Vaccines can help prevent several kinds of illnesses by exposing your pet to antigens that look like a particular disease,” said Dr. Hillary Feldmann, veterinarian at WHS. “These antigens help stimulate your animal’s immune system and get them ready in case your pet ever does encounter the disease.”
WHS understands the importance of making sure all animals stay healthy. That is why all cats and dogs in the adoption program are provided with core vaccines prior to being adopted.
WHS also offers critical, low-cost vaccinations for both cats and dogs. While a traditional vet visit can cost hundreds of dollars, WHS vaccines for Rabies, DHPP for dogs, or FVRCP for cats, are just $16 each. In addition, WHS offers a Bordetella vaccine for $25 and microchipping for $25.
“Our low-cost vaccine clinics are open to everyone,” says Corey Viars, media specialist for the Green Bay and Door County Campuses. “With a national shortage of veterinarians and a lack of affordable veterinary resources, our vaccine clinics are an incredibly valuable resource.”
