The Jacksonport Area Business Association (JABA) is sponsoring a GoFundMe page to support the Jacksonport sidewalk project. The idea, spearheaded by Chase and Hunter Bjarnarson, owners of Island Fever in downtown Jacksonport, will begin immediately.
The Jacksonport Area Business Association, with the support of many individuals within the Jacksonport area, are on a mission to raise money to replace the gravel walking paths with concrete sidewalks in the downtown Jacksonport area. The town funded the current walking paths to give people a safe way to travel the town on foot. Due to low funding, the town could not afford concrete sidewalks. The gravel walking paths provide a good base on which concrete can be added, saving time and money, but donations are needed to improve upon the paths. Concrete sidewalks would correct issues people are still having navigating on foot, such as the uneven surface which makes families with strollers use the road instead if the walking path.
Concrete sidewalks would also give the town a fresh new look with an inviting appearance. It will also make exploring the town more enjoyable. Most importantly, it will create a safe walking area for pedestrians.
There are many ways to make donations. The easiest way to help is to to click here to make an online donation with a credit card: www.gofundme.com/jacksonport-sidewalks.
