I hope I can give you a few minutes of escape from the grim realities of the situation at this time. I never could have imagined a world so small, literally where you cannot fly off to somewhere else. Fortunately, we have music and we have ways to share from a distance. I am wishing that in no time we will all be able to enjoy the beautiful music and some delicious wine under the same roof.
I am fortunate to be living with a husband and son who are classical musicians, and we have a family trio. We have been working on Dvořák’s F minor Trio, and, although it is not always “lovey-dovey” during rehearsals, we always are humbled by the great music we are able to make together.
Besides practicing, I have committed to reading Ayn Rand’s Atlas Shrugged and watching the TV series The Sopranos. I also have ambitions of pulling out weeds which I normally put off until they are 5 feet tall in August. So, like everyone else, I am doing things that require a lot of time which we seem to have plenty of these days. I am profoundly grateful to those who are on the front lines who may be witnessing way too much tragedy and for those who are making it possible to feed ourselves.
