Sturgeon Bay Native Reads from her Debut Novel
Juddville, Wis. (November 7, 2022) – Write On, Door County will host a reading by Sturgeon Bay native Jill Stukenberg from her debut novel News of the Air on Saturday, November 12, 1 pm. The free event will take place at Write On, 4210 Juddville Rd., Fish Creek. All are welcome.
News of the Air was selected as the 2021 winner of the Big Moose Prize deom Black Lawrence Press and was published in September of 2022. Part domestic realism, part eco-fiction, this novel centered in Norther Wisconsin is a story of family and place that unsettles. Stukenberg will read from and discuss the novel in this event, rescheduled from October 8.
Jill Stukenberg’s short stories have appeared in Midwest Gothic, The Collagist, and The Florida Review among others. A graduate of Sturgeon Bay High School, she spent several summers waiting tables and tending shops in Fish Creek. Currently, shi is a professor of English and Creative Writing at the University of Wisconsin – Stevens Point. Complete information can be found on www.writeondoorcounty.org.
