Egg Harbor, Wis. (May 31, 2021) – On Friday, June 18, at 7 p.m., Door County songwriter Katie Dahl will perform outdoors at Woodwalk Gallery, her first public concert appearance since before the pandemic. The locally based, nationally touring Dahl is known for her smart, poignant songs with a strong sense of place. She will be joined at Woodwalk by bassist Rich Higdon.
Katie Dahl’s renown is spreading rapidly beyond her Door County home turf. Dar Williams has called Dahl’s songs “the very best kind of songwriting,” and her latest album Wildwood spent several months in the top ten of the folk radio charts. Dahl spent most of her pandemic offering Curbside Song Dropoffs in her turquoise retrofitted “Songmobile” van and hosting the popular online variety show “Katie Dahl Has Friends.” She is also the author of the musical The Fisherman’s Daughters, opening at Northern Sky Theater June 14.
“I can’t wait to be back in front of a real live group of humans after so long away,” said Dahl. “There’s something about singing to real people that you just can’t recreate over a screen.”
Tickets for the concert cost $25 and can be reserved by calling 920-629-4877. Advance reservations required.
The concert at Woodwalk will take place outdoors, under cover. Adult beverages will be available for sale. Patrons may choose to bring a picnic dinner but must reserve their picnic table when they call to reserve their tickets.
