Egg Harbor, Wis. (March 20, 2025) – Popular Door County musician Katie Dahl will be joined by acclaimed Cape Cod, MA, songwriter Grace Morrison for a concert of original songs at the Kress Pavilion in Egg Harbor on Thursday, April 3, at 7 p.m. Tickets are available at katiedahlmusic.com; any remaining tickets will be sold for $25 at the door if available.
Katie Dahl and Grace Morrison are both songwriters with loyal fan bases and multiple accolades to their credit. Though they normally perform individually, at Kress Pavilion they will also share songs in an intimate “song swap” format, commenting on and adding texture to one another’s work (Morrison plays accordion and Dahl plays harmonica, in addition to their formidable guitar skills).
Nationally touring songwriter Katie Dahl “combines old-fashioned populism, an abiding love of the land and wickedly smart love songs, all delivered in a rich and expressive alto” (Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel). Known for the intelligence and vulnerability of her songs and the easy humor of her live performances, Katie also has five studio albums and two original musical plays, Victory Farm and The Fisherman’s Daughters, to her credit. Wisconsin Public Radio calls Katie “the real deal.” “In unsettled times,” says Peter Mulvey, “Katie Dahl brings us a grounded spirit.”
Grace Morrison is a pianist, accordion player, Renaissance Faire performer, cranberry grower, reader of historical nonfiction, coffee devotee (she sells her own coffee blend), and an unapologetic expert on all things New England. And somehow, all these quirks weave seamlessly into the fabric of her music, making her one of the most unique and endearing songwriters around. Born and raised on the shores of Cape Cod, Grace Morrison has trademarked a sound she calls Saltwater Country. “I was always too pop for folk and too folk for country. Eventually, I started peeling back the layers of my music to find out what truly made it mine. At the heart of it all was my deep, undeniable connection to the Cape Cod coastline—it’s in my blood, in my voice, in every lyric I write. My music carries the storytelling of country, the twang, but also the raw, unshakable spirit of a Swamp Yankee. That’s Saltwater Country.”
Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. Kress Pavilion is located at 7845 Church Street, Egg Harbor.
