All are invited to participate in Celebrate Water Door County Day at Sawyer Park on May 5, 1:00-2:00 PM. Celebrate Water is a year-long series of activities to celebrate Door County’s water, understand the threats to our water, and inspire people to act and protect our water. It is an initiative of Healthy Water Door County, a fund of the Door County Community Foundation, Inc.
Join us to hear the Official County Proclamation declaring May 5th, 2018 Celebrate Water Door County Day, enjoy music by Cathy Grier and the New Day Singers, and meet and greet beautiful birds from Open Door Bird Sanctuary. All can enjoy free pizza, popcorn and lemonade. State Representative Joel Kitchens and Bret Bicoy, President and CEO of the Door County Community Foundation will address the crowd. Attendees can take home a complimentary packet of “Celebrate Water” Coffee courtesy of Door County Coffee & Tea, and snap a selfie with Dewy the Droplet for a chance to be featured on our social media outlets.
From the lakes we sail and the orchards we grow, to the meals we eat and the visitors we host, we rely on water in Door County. And it is the responsibility of all of us to protect it. Join us for a year-long celebration of water with musical performances, art exhibits, eye-opening documentaries, enlightening discussions and forward-thinking ideas to keep our most valuable resource healthy for years to come. Water is everything. Do everything to protect it.
