Fish Creek, Wis. (June 23, 2025) – On Saturday, June 28, at 8 p.m., Door Community Auditorium (DCA) will present The Special Consensus in concert on its Main Stage.
Chicago-based quartet The Special Consensus is the crown jewel of the Midwestern bluegrass scene. Led by Greg Cahill, banjo player and recipient of the prestigious Distinguished Achievement Award from the International Bluegrass Music Association (IBMA), the band also includes Dan Eubanks (bass), Greg Blake (guitar) and Michael Prewitt (mandolin). Together, Special Consensus has received eight awards from the IBMA and two Grammy nominations (Scratch Gravel Road in 2012 and Rivers and Roads in 2018). They are four talented vocalists and instrumentalists who follow their creative desires without straying too far from their bluegrass roots.
No Depression calls The Special Consensus’s most recent album “rolling and rollicking…inventive, innovative, improvisational…. Almost every song on the album invites us to jump up and dance.”
The June 28 performance is made possible with support from underwriting sponsor Tad Gilster; major sponsor Wisconsin Public Radio; and supporting sponsors Don and Kayval Larson and Parkwood Lodge.
The show begins at 8 p.m. on June 28. Tickets range from $22-29, plus sales tax and a facility fee of $2/ticket and $6/order. Advance reservations are encouraged. The DCA box office is located at 3926 Highway 42 in Fish Creek.
