Learn how you can help animals like him
Green Bay, Wis. (April 9, 2025) – A local puppy has a new lease on life after the Wisconsin Humane Society (WHS) Green Bay Campus was able to get Liam the surgery he desperately needed.
Liam was brought in as a stray after another dog severely injured him. The 8-week-old pup’s jaw was visibly askew, and X-rays confirmed his jaw was broken.
After consultations with multiple specialists, a path forward was clear. Liam would need surgery to remove the detached part of his jaw. Thanks to the amazing support from the community, WHS was able to quickly schedule that surgery with a veterinarian specializing in dentistry and oral surgery. It was especially important to expedite surgery, as the little pup is growing fast, and any delay could cause developmental issues in his jaw.
The procedure was a success, and he is now recovering in the comfort of a foster home.
Between his ongoing medication, specialized diet, foster supplies, and the $2,600 surgery, Liam’s medical bills have quickly piled up. If you would like to donate to support his medical journey and the hundreds of other animals currently receiving medical care across the organization, simply go to wihumane.org to make a donation.
“It is because of this community’s amazing generosity that we can help animals like Liam,” said Corey Viars, media specialist for the Green Bay and Door County Campuses. “WHS is a local nonprofit and is not a part of any national umbrella group, so we seriously rely on independent donations to provide this kind of care.”
