Fish Creek, Wis. (August 11, 2023) – Top of the Hill Shops is excited to welcome its newest shop, Love Letter Consignment Boutique, to their shopping complex. Love Letter will feature a mix of name-brand and luxury women’s clothing, shoes, hats, jewelry, belts and purses, plus locally sourced artisan products.
Love Letter will have a soft opening party on Saturday, August 12 from 4-9pm. Stop by for wine, beer and appetizers on the lawn, plus the shop will officially be open to the public!
Owner and Door County native Laurel Janisse purchased the former ‘Take a Peek’ gift shop and spent the month of July renovating the space. Take a Peek’s owner, Jeanne Klotz, had her shop there for 23 years and decided to retire earlier this spring. Janisse had been looking for a brick and mortar space to start a shop and knew this would be the perfect location for her boutique when she toured it in April. Klotz needed time to close up her business with a retirement sale and Janisse officially closed on the property on June 30.
When asked about how she came up with the name, Janisse said “Love Letter truly is a love letter to many people. First, my community. I curated a large selection of some really beautiful consigned pieces from women around Door County over the past couple months. I’ll also have locally-made products from some incredible Door County artisans.” She went on, “I’ve always had a love for thrift stores and even used to have a vintage clothing pop-up shop. It’s a love letter to the planet because consignment shops and thrift shops help reduce waste, pollution, and they save natural resources. Fast fashion is a huge problem in the world and this is my miniscule part in helping that.” And finally, “it’s a love letter to myself because it’s a beautiful space that I’ve always dreamed of having!”
