On Friday, July 19, at 8 p.m., Lyle Lovett and his Large Band will return by popular demand to Door Community Auditorium (DCA) in Fish Creek.
With four Grammy Awards to his name and more than four million records sold, Lyle Lovett fuses elements of blues, country, folk, gospel, and jazz with an uncanny knack for storytelling. Known for such hits as “If I Had a Boat,” “She’s No Lady,” and “My Baby Don’t Tolerate,” the Texas-based, genre-bending Lovett has created his own style of Americana music in the 14 acclaimed albums he’s released since his self-titled debut in 1986. He returns by popular demand to DCA, where he will hoot, rock, and rollick with his renowned Large Band.
Consequence of Sound writes that Lovett has “a transcendent voice that can capture the cool grit of an outlaw on one song and reflect the frailty of a wounded lover the next…achingly beautiful.”
Lyle Lovett’s performance is made possible with support from major sponsors Bob & Paula Cummings, Main Street Market, and Lori & David Nicholas, as well as supporting sponsors EH Barker, The Cordon Family Foundation, Nathan Nichols & Company, On Deck Clothing Company, and Wild Tomato Wood-Fired Pizza & Grille.
Lyle Lovett and his Large Band will perform at DCA at 8:00 p.m. on Friday, July 19. Tickets for the concert range from $85 to $108. Advance reservations are recommended and can be made through the DCA box office, located at 3926 Highway 42 in Fish Creek. The box office is open Monday-Friday, 12:00-5:00 p.m. Tickets can be purchased in person, on the phone at (920) 868-2728, or online at www.dcauditorium.org.
