Sturgeon Bay, Wis. (January 20, 2025) – Learn about the environmentally-friendly projects underway in Door County Parks at the upcoming presentation in the Door County Master Gardener Association /Wild Ones- Door Peninsula Educational Lecture Series, hosted by Crossroads at Big Creek on Tuesday, January 28 at 6:30 PM.
Door County Parks Manager Tim Kazmierczak will describe the parks’ prairie installations and give an update on the Door County Trails project and talk about bat condos and the research being done on bats and caves in Door County Parks.
Tim will report on the Green Tier/Climate Change Coalition Tree Planting program and progress with the Bird City program.
Finally, he will talk about the Door County’s efforts to protect Dark Skies by revamping the lights at the boat launches.
Tim Kazmierczak, Door County Parks Manager, is positively excited to reveal the art and science behind the Door County Parks system. With over 25 years of experience in the world of horticulture, he previously spent the better part of a decade cultivating rare and exotic wild potatoes at the USDA Potato Genebank, tending to his own garden and for several years, moonlighting pro bono as the Director of the DCMGA Garden Door (nestled behind the barns at the UW Peninsular Ag Research Station. at 4312 N. Highway 42, just north of Sturgeon Bay) This nature-loving Parks Manager loves nothing more than spending quality time in the great outdoors with his family and friends.”
