Ephraim, Wis. (August 9, 2023) – The Red Putter Mini Golf in Ephraim announced today that Matthew Kraus became the first Pro Tournament contender to win three times this past Saturday, August 5.
Matthew held on to his Champion title at the 21st annual Red Putter Pro Tournament at The Red Putter Mini Golf in Ephraim, winning with a three round total score of 105, narrowly edging out his brother Zachary Kraus who scored 108. A tie for third place resulted in a playoff between Alex Parys and Gary Hester. Each scored 109, but Alex went home with the third place trophy after winning the playoff on hole #7, The Bear. After these four players, the results were close with many former champions as well as new players scoring very well. Mark Schroeder-Strong scored 31 in the third round of play, taking home the trophy for Best Single Game and tying the course record which Mark himself set back in the 2009 Tournament.
To enter the tournament and join the Red Putter Pro Board, players had to qualify by scoring under par on the course. Players can now qualify for next year’s tournament, which will be held on Saturday, August 3, 2024.
