The 7th annual Merry-Time Festival of Trees is now underway at the Door County Maritime Museum! Through Tuesday, December 11, visitors to the museum can explore not only the exhibits dedicated to Great Lakes maritime history, but also the beautiful holiday trees scattered throughout the museum galleries. With every admission, visitors receive a free raffle ticket to try to win one of the donated trees. Upcoming Festival events include the Merry-Time Fun Kids Day on Saturday, December 1 and the “Jingle, Jingle, Mix & Mingle” Gala on Tuesday, December 11.
Children of all ages will delight in visiting Santa aboard the historic tugboat John Purves during Merry-Time Fun Kids Day, Saturday, December 1. Enjoy family activities, holiday crafts, and a museum scavenger hunt starting at 9:00am. Santa will be on board the John Purves from 10 a.m. – 1:00 p.m., where kids can share their Christmas wishes. All children accompanied by an adult receive free admission to the museum from November 23 through December 1. There is a Toys for Tots box in the museum lobby to place any toy donations for kids in need.
On Tuesday, December 11, the festival culminates with the popular “Jingle, Jingle, Mix & Mingle” Gala from 5:30pm-8:30pm. Guests will enjoy live seasonal entertainment, heavy hors d’oeuvres courtesy of Thyme Cuisine and refreshments, along with a live and silent auction and tree raffle drawing. The “Jingle, Jingle, Mix & Mingle” Gala offers not only a fun evening at the museum, but also helps support the year-round operations, mission, and educational programing of the Maritime Museum.
The Gala includes a raffle where guests can win one of the 28 trees and wreaths donated and decorated by local businesses and organizations. Each of these extraordinary trees is adorned with beautiful ornaments and special surprises. Each tree at the museum will be raffled off during the event. Along with the tree itself, winners will take home the tree’s unique gifts and prizes.
The “Jingle, Jingle, Mix & Mingle” Gala will also feature a dramatic live auction featuring incredible prizes including: a Door County golf package; a Bjorklunden Seminar; Hatch Distilling Company tasting and tour; Packers Indoor Club Package for the Lions game on 12/30; and 4th of July fireworks viewing atop the Cana Island Lighthouse.
Tree raffle tickets and bidding on the Gala silent auction items are now available. Tree raffle tickets are $5 each or six for $25, available at the Museum front desk.
