Midsummer’s Music Welcomes New Board Member

February 9, 2026 by Laurel Ciohon

Rändi Fay brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise as the newest member of the board of directors.

Sister Bay, Wis. (February 9, 2026) – Midsummer’s Music draws on the wisdom, experience, and guidance from individuals who comprise the board of directors. Board members typically exhibit a special, continued dedication to Midsummer’s Music and its affiliate, the Griffon String Quartet, through their support for the organization, musicians, and staff. Midsummer’s Music welcomes Rändi Fay, who recently began her initial three-year term.

Fay is a vocalist and songwriter whose atmospheric folk, symphonic rock, and jazz-inflected sound brings rich, emotional storytelling to life. Named one of the “female musicians who paved the way here in Wisconsin” by the Wisconsin Area Music Industry (2022), her music reflects a wide range of influences – from jazz standards and pop/rock classics to musical theater and classical works – often shaped through global collaborations.

A former veterinarian, she shifted fully to music after early retirement, studying songwriting through Berklee College of Music while learning on the job with top Wisconsin musicians. Since her 2010 debut Close To My Heart, she has released multiple full-length albums, EPs, and singles, working with Grammy-nominated producers Shane Adams and Hans Christian. Her songs have earned national and international recognition, including finalist honors from WAMI and the Great American Song Contest. In addition to recording and co-writing projects, Fay is an active feature vocalist and musical theater performer.

Midsummer’s Music celebrates 36 years of bringing chamber music to Door County in 2026. The summer season of concerts begins June 12 and runs through September 7. Additional concerts continue into September, and the second annual Autumn Music Fest runs in October. Visit www.midsummersmusic.com as schedule details are updated.

Midsummer’s Music was co-founded in 1990 by Jim and Jean Berkenstock, long-time Door County summer residents and principal orchestral players with the Lyric Opera of Chicago. What began as two concerts among friends has become one of the Midwest’s most anticipated chamber music series, bringing thousands of chamber music enthusiasts from around the globe to the magical Door County Peninsula.
