Sister Bay, Wis. (March 31, 2025) – Midsummer’s Music draws on the wisdom, experience, and guidance from individuals who comprise the board of directors. Board members typically exhibit a special, continued dedication to Midsummer’s Music through their support for the organization, musicians, and staff. Midsummer’s Music welcomes Cynthia Crock, Elmer Lewis, and Bryan Mazur, who recently began their initial three-year terms.
Crock is a specialist in development and marketing, as well as a volunteer in nonprofit fundraising and development strategies. Lewis is Professor Emeritus and a former chairman of Northwestern’s Department of Mechanical Engineering. Formerly the Ford Foundation Assistant Professor of Nuclear Engineering at MIT, he is currently writing his seventh book: “Renewables and Nuclear, Can They Pair to Curb Climate Change.” Mazur is President and Owner of NEW Radio/Door County Daily News. He owns five radio stations in Door County along with the News Organization the Door County Daily News, NEW Radio Sports Network, NEW Radio Digital and Where2DoorCounty. He serves as a volunteer for not-for-profit groups to help enrich the community and to assist in fundraising and marketing strategies.
Midsummer’s Music celebrates 35 years of bringing chamber music to Door County in 2025. The summer season of concerts begins June 12 and runs through September 1. Midsummer’s Music was co-founded in 1990 by Jim and Jean Berkenstock, long-time Door County summer residents and principal orchestral players with the Lyric Opera of Chicago. What began as two concerts among friends has become one of the Midwest’s most anticipated chamber music series, bringing thousands of chamber music enthusiasts from around the globe to the magical Door County Peninsula.
