More Than Sauerkraut at DC Kraut Co.

August 22, 2019 by Ann Kaminski

Located in the classic “German Settlement” area just north of Baileys Harbor, sauerkraut-maker Annie Miller learned the secret of creating traditional German kraut at her father’s side. The cabbages are grown on their local farm, then hand-cut, vacuum-packed, and frozen to ensure that the product’s healthy, probiotic-rich qualities stay active and arrive intact.

After building their own commercial kitchen on-site in 2012, Annie Miller and partner Jimmy Gordon can now create bakery specialties, too, including Danish and Kringles. All can be purchased right at the farm in Baileys Harbor (2604 Grove Road) or at Main Street Market in Egg Harbor.

Christmas cookies by the pound are made to order. Annie notes that many families call and share their special family recipes with them to bake for upcoming holidays. Just call ahead (920.839.2288)!  –Jude Genereaux
