Fish Creek, Wis. (August 31, 2020) – Northern Sky Theater’s 2020 season is entirely virtual, and its brand-new Gould Theater on the corner of County Roads F and A in Fish Creek has (like venues across the country) sat empty this season. But Northern Sky fans will have a chance to see their favorite actors in the parking lot on Saturday, September 5 as the theater presents its first-ever Lumberjack Car Wash from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Beloved Northern Sky actors Doc Heide, Jeff Herbst, Doug Mancheski, and Chase Stoeger will don their lumberjack longjohns (familiar to all who have seen Northern Sky’s cult classic “Lumberjacks in Love”) and bring out the blue soap to wash cars in a first-come, first-served, pay-what-you-can car wash in the Gould Theater’s parking lot. The event will feature live music from Katie Dahl and other Northern Sky musicians, as well as a chance to buy some brand-new 2020 Northern Sky t-shirts.
“We miss seeing our friends and fans and volunteers!” said Artistic Director Jeff Herbst. “Chase Stoeger came up with the idea of a car wash, and it seemed like a great way to have fun, stay safely distant from one another, do some truly old-school fundraising, and welcome people to the Gould – even if it’s just into the parking lot.”
This event follows on the heels of the “Mancheski Playlist,” featuring Doug Mancheski, on Friday, September 4 at 7 p.m. “Mancheski Playlist” is just the latest installment in Northern Sky’s robust virtual season, which so far has included “When Life Gives Ya cLemons,” “Songs of Hope,” “Trunk Songs,” and “The Jeff & Katie Show.”
