Fish Creek, Wis. (May 12, 2021) – Northern Sky Theater is pleased to announce the 2021 recipients of the Northern Sky Werner & Sue Krause Scholarship. This scholarship is available to students pursuing a degree in theater or music performance who exhibit a love for theater or music performance and have participated in the performing arts throughout high school.
This year, Isabella Dippel and Lexie Henkel were each chosen to receive a $2500 scholarship.
Isabella Dippel is a graduate of Sturgeon Bay High School. A frequent participant in performing arts activities, Isabella has also given back to the community via hundreds of hours of volunteerism and other extra-curriculars. While aspiring to be an actress, she has also participated in choir, band and orchestra performances during her high school years. Isabella is especially interested in immersive theater that draws audiences into the shows they watch.
Lexie Henkel’s volunteer work with the Sunshine House and Door County Children’s Choir have broadened her experiences in the arts and allowed her to share her gifts with others. Lexie also enjoys volunteering with children to instill a love of music in them. Lexie’s primary area of interest is operatic music, and she plans to continue that focus through the Music for All program at Lawrence University. In addition to singing, Lexie plays several instruments and acts.
Recipients of the Northern Sky Werner & Sue Krause Scholarship are selected based on their participation in the performing arts while in high school, as well as their GPA and other criteria.
As patrons of performing arts organizations throughout the state, Werner and Sue Krause have long supported the performing arts and the joy they bring to audiences young and old.
“The performing arts play an integral role in the economic success of Door County,” stated Northern Sky managing director Dave Maier. “We have always fostered the education of new artists through our workshop process and intern program. This generous scholarship allows us to recognize the achievements of those students who are pursuing a future in one of the most important drivers of the tourism industry.”
The mission of Northern Sky Theater is to create, develop and present professional musical and dramatic productions that will further the knowledge and appreciation of the culture and heritage of the United States.
