Jacksonport, Wis. (August 23, 2021) – Open Door Bird Sanctuary is introducing a pair of fun and family friendly events called Raptor Rambles. Their fall edition is Friday, September 10 from 6-8pm and will be an opportunity to meet and learn about nighttime birds of prey. We know that means OWLS!
Starting with a casual dinner and campfire in the picnic area, attendees will then be given a trail map and will set out in small groups to discover various owls out on the trail system. The resident raptors will be with a handler who will clue you in on all the cool things about their bird. It’s a great way to see other parts of the sanctuary that you haven’t visited or a great way to discover ODBS for the first time. The other viewing areas will also be open during the 6-8pm event.
There will be sloppy Joes for dinner. Cost for adults is $15 and kids 10 and under are $8. Limited tickets available. Contact Jillaine at 414-897-6569 to reserve. Payment in advanced required.
All outdoors, easy walking is part of the event. Wear comfortable shoes and dress for the evening weather. Rain date is Saturday, September 11.
Open Door Bird Sanctuary is in its 10th year of inspiring Door County residents and tourists with 17 birds of prey, including a Bald Eagle, owls, hawks, falcons and a turkey vulture.
