Sturgeon Bay, Wis. (August 17, 2023) – It was Open Door Pride’s second year giving out its IDEA (Inclusivity, Diversity, Equality and Accessibility) scholarship to a local high school senior. Open Door Pride decided to give out two scholarships this year because it was too difficult to select just one of our fantastic applicants. The two recipients were both seniors from Sevastopol High School – Bianca Stanger Tragancim and Maddie Schultz.
Bianca is a Brazilian foreign exchange student sponsored by the Rotary Club of Sturgeon Bay. They are going on to study architecture at the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee.
Maddie was a peer mentor, a member of the bowling team, and a member of National Honor Society. They will be going on to study Psychology and Spanish at St. Norbert’s this fall.
Open Door Pride’s mission is to affirm diversity in Door County through inclusion for all. We are a 100% volunteer organization representing the LGBTQIA+ and ally communities in Door County.
