Brussels, Wis. (April 20, 2026) — The Belgian Heritage Center (BHC), in partnership with St. Francis and St. Mary Parish, invites the community to attend the dedication of the new Our Lady of the Snows Historic Cemetery Display on Sunday, May 3, 2026, from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm.
This meaningful event will honor those buried in the historic cemetery adjacent to the BHC and celebrate the completion of a new interpretive display area. The exhibit shares the story of the cemetery’s history and includes a listing of nearly 200 individuals buried between 1860 and 1911. The space also features a peaceful patio area with four memorial benches designed for reflection and remembrance.
The morning will begin with Mass at 8:00 am at St. Francis and St. Mary Church in Brussels, celebrated by Fr. Antonio Rex Palaya. Following the service, a blessing of the cemetery will take place at 9:15 am, led by Fr. Anthony Birdsall.
After the blessing, attendees are invited to the Belgian Heritage Center for an open house featuring light refreshments and a brief presentation highlighting the cemetery’s history and the extensive research undertaken to identify individuals whose graves no longer have markers. A special photo display showcasing those buried in the cemetery will also be on view.
