Gail McCoy will be debuting her Woodland Series of paper collages. These stunning compositions use a fascinating technique. McCoy starts with National Geographic images that she then applies an acid wash too, creating beautiful backgrounds for her cranes and birches. She then cuts out cranes, birches and suns out of paper to complete the composition. McCoy works in a variety of sizes that will be on full display for the show both in-store and online.
Mike Judy is a Door County based artist who works in pastels. His vibrantly colored scenes often hint at the Door County landscape, featuring boats or glimpses of the peninsula’s bays and lakes. Often compared to Matisse; Mike Judy creates beautiful worlds that one can get lost in. See Judy’s newest creations at the show.
Erin Nolan is a Door County based printmaker. Nolan creates stunning woodblock prints and etchings of the Door Peninsula. You’ll recognize Cave Point and The Ridges Sanctuary in many of her pieces. These beautiful and tranquil pieces are not to be missed.
Heather Allard works in the art of Paper Quilling. Allard’s colorful hand-quilled landscapes and scenes are sure to bring joy to any spot. Allard hand cuts and then “quills” or turns tiny pieces of paper in shapes and then assembles those pieces into a larger sculptural whole. Individual landscapes can have hundreds of small quilled bits of paper.
Liz Heller is the newest artist in the Plum Bottom Family of artists. Heller, a Door County artist, creates beautiful pastels. Her still life pastels have become a gallery favorite.
