Patricia Shoppe: Carrying on Great-Grandmothers Iconic Style

What once accommodated the Egg Harbor Town Hall (built in 1884) has been home to the lovely Patricia Shoppe since 2005. What started as a small jewelry shop that opened on May 4, 2001, Patricia Shoppe has transformed into a thriving clothing and accessories store for owner, Erin Anschutz Bosman. She moved into the current location in 2005 and has been there ever since. The lush gardens, larger selection of items, and cozy, vintage atmosphere brings customers – locals and tourists alike – back year after year. Bosman, a Door County native, who's grandmother Patricia opened the original Patricia Shoppe in Chicago, then Milwaukee, always knew she wanted to follow in her grandmothers footsteps and open her own boutique. History was repeated and Bosman's version of Patricia Shoppe in Door County has been a wild success since day one.

Patricia Shoppe’s beautiful interior, with 12' ceilings, hardwood floors, vintage schoolhouse light fixtures, and tall windows that line the walls, is flooded with natural light which shows off the stunning merchandise perfectly. There are several antique display case counters and plentiful seating with plush vintage chairs once owned by Patricia herself. With all the distinct decoration and display touches, such as a retro suitcase made into a necklace display, it’s no wonder customers keep coming back season after season to see what Patricia Shoppe has in store!

I stopped in Patricia Shoppe with my mother on a Wednesday afternoon and was pleasantly surprised to see it was bustling with customers mid-week in late August. It’s easy to see why Patricia Shoppe does so well in northern Door County.  Everywhere you look, trendy yet unique clothing and accessories adorn the historic, modernly-updated store. We were able to find some goodies on sale, as well as come gorgeous jewelry. Mom snagged some beautiful pants and I scored a stunning ring that I've gotten dozens of compliments on already! I already anxious to get back and check out their fall jackets and sweaters, but I'll keep trying to enjoy these last few weeks of summer while I can.
