Door County, Wis. (February 11, 2026) — The Peninsula Music Festival’s (PMF) FebFest continues on Sunday, February 15 at 2:00 PM with Romance, an intimate chamber music concert at the Birch Creek Music Performance Center. The performance features two of PMF’s most cherished “Cornhusker” musicians: Thomas Kluge (viola) and Christi Zuniga (piano).
Designed as the perfect extension of Valentine’s Day weekend, Romance showcases expressive works by Reinecke, Schubert, Handoshkin, and Mendelssohn. The program offers audiences a warm winter afternoon filled with lyrical beauty and the sophisticated musical dialogue for which these two collaborators are known.
Kluge and Zuniga are longtime colleagues, both serving as principal players with the Omaha Symphony Orchestra. Their deep musical connection and shared history at PMF bring a unique chemistry to the stage.
Christi Zuniga, Principal Keyboardist with the Omaha Symphony, has enjoyed a distinguished career as a soloist and collaborative pianist. A graduate of the Curtis Institute of Music, she has performed with prestigious ensembles including the Atlanta and Charleston Symphonies and has worked alongside world-renowned artists such as Yo-Yo Ma and Isaac Stern. She has served as Principal Keyboard for the Peninsula Music Festival since 2016.
Thomas Kluge is the Principal Viola of the Omaha Symphony and a highly regarded educator and soloist. Educated at the Manhattan School of Music and the Bern Conservatory, Kluge’s background includes performances with the New York Philharmonic and studies under masters like Leonard Davis and Max Rostal. He currently serves as the Orchestra Director at Creighton University and is a longtime member of the Peninsula Music Festival orchestra.
“FebFest is something we all look forward to each winter, and this will be aspecial Valentine’s concert,” said Lisa Harper, PMF Executive Director. “It’s not often you get to have such a personal, intimate concert with musicians of this caliber. It will be a magical way to spend a winter afternoon.”
